Now that this is overwith, I can come home and relax. I'm sitting here with a sex on the beach, just enjoying the hum of my machine... My feet hurt from being on post for 7 hours straight, and I don't think I've ever saluted so much in a single day. 🙂 But it went well, nothing bad happened, and I have a list of things to add to the experiences of my life... 😀

Cool man, Where is the picture of the ship though?

She was designed by computer, using sophisticated software. The San Antonio cost 1.6 billion dollars to build.

all that info and no picture,... Man! 😛

Thank you for your (and your shipmates) service 😛

From one serviceman to another I understand what you went through. I commissioned USS George Washington, USS Harry S Truman and USS Ronald Reagan.

Thanks for your service

Oh yeah wheres the pictures?

\Wow thats a big "LPD" compared to the ones I saw when I was in the navy 1984 - 1988 😛

Thank you now I see it has undergone some major changes (Whats with the squared off anchor chain hole lol)

The entire hull is angled so that there are absolutely no vertical surfaces to reflect radar; thus the ship has no radar signature whatsoever. It is, in effect, a "stealth" ship. It's the same concept used in DDG ships.

Presidential visits for the military are usually a royal pain. Everything has to be perfect. I know what you went through. Two presidential visits while stationed at Pearl Harbor.

Thanks for your service.

What I noticed going through the press release was the use of electricity for all the heating. Galleys and Berthing, particularly. All those steam lines running everywhere were such a PITA. They must have some serious TG units. And no flash distillers for fresh water.

(Caption for the picture) San Antonio underway from Pascagoula, MS

😀

Salute!
