OT: weird problem

I just took advantage of that western digital hard drive deal at best buy and ever since I installed windows when I try to scroll it is really slow and choppy. everything else works great and is lightning fast. The OS is win XP pro. Is there any setting that I can use to change this without formating and reinstalling it since It is the upgrade version I have and I have just lost my win 98 CD 🙁

There is a function in windows called smooth scrolling. Some times it causes what you are saying. I don't know why but its kinda random. 😕

Its actually an IE option just go to tools internet options and then advanced. In there smooth scrolling is listed. I hope that helps.

just tried it but without success. 🙁

crosses fingers (hehe) and hopes that more smart people come along.

Only IE has the scolling problem? Sounds like it needs a patch like the large IDE drive patch. Check your vcache settings tool.

thanks Dave, got it all taken care of now.

So what did you do to solve this? I was going to add that it sounds like a video card issue. I have a Hercules card that whenever I load XP it gives it drivers, but they suck and I get that same scrolling issue until I load up the drivers from the CD.
