That fvcking blows. :|

I hate those kind of computer problems where it could be any one of a gazillion different components, and especially when they happen just after I've gotten rid of a bunch of older stuff that I could have used for troubleshooting. 🙁

I had this problem about 3 months after installing windows XP at work. I went back to Windows 2000... I still have the unused Windows XP box near my computer - if I have enough courage I may try it again.

It's the video card.

I put it in my server, detonator drivers didn't even find the card. Put it in another rig, ECS board, screen flickers pretty bad when u try to do anything, but it hasn't locked up.

So what do ya'll think? RMA the video card? :disgust:

I'm sick and tired of Nvidia cards, this is my second GF4 that has died :|

LOL! amdskip is on the computer with the flakey video card right now, it's very comical to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀😀😀

Umm, videos alright😉

This video card blows!

Had two NV cards die on me also. :|
But a total of six that were ATI or ATI based :disgust:

Too bad 3dfx became part of NVidia 🙁

I think you should monitor the rails on the PSU while it is up and running.

Not sure what program you should use for that, the ASUS boards have a nice program that allows recording of things, which was how we finally determined we had a bad PSU.

I wouldn't relie on any software readings for PSU voltages ,they tend to be a little inaccurate ,to be sure use a multimeter🙂

Man, Sinful, I'm using my old VoDoo 3 3000 in this dualy PIII 933 box. Linux don't care
about the drivers. It recognized it and loaded the drivers for it. Don't play Q3 on this
machine tho, only e-mail and browsing.

GO 3DFX! !

😎

A V3 will play Q3 just fine as long as you don't whack up the res above 800x600 😉

Never had any problems from an Nvidia card😛.............yet!
