I didn't know that it had started showing over yonder on the other side of the pond! :Q I heard it was coming... but I guess it's there! 😉

After having rewatched all the eps I have on tape so far multiple times, it's slowly growing on me... So Assimilator1... How does it feel to have Brit as the apparent inventor of what will later be called the phaser??????????? 😎
 
I've got all the VHS tapes. What a way to waste money...wish they were DVD. Figure $25+ a pop, it really adds up.

Enterprise started on Sky1 on the 7th of Jan🙂 ,however I had a copy of Enterpirise's 1st episode on VCD about 3-4 weeks after it came out in the USA 😀

Re Phaser ,huh? ,is that in latter episodes? ,I have only seen the 1st 2 (Broken bow & Fight or flight)

Actually, it was sortof mentioned in the pilot... and the various ST websites and Fan clubs have been confirming. The guns that Reid calls "phase pistols", ie., the ones he specifically modified and gave to the Capt. and Cmdr. Tucker (with "2 settings, stun and kill..." and he warned them "not to confuse the two" 😉) - THAT is what they are considering the precursor to the more modern "phaser" - and Reid was the one who created that.

Also, they are starting up new eps again (FINALLY!), and I believe the one tonight will be about installing and testing the new "phase cannons" aboard Enterprise (which apparently was never done because they left in such a hurry during the pilot and weren't really ready for launch). Originally, the armaments were pulse lasers (I think pre-Enterprise) and those torpedos they have right now...

A shame that a standard 24th century Star Fleet photon torpedo is WAY too big to fit down that torpedo chute! 😛

Re phase pistol ,got ya ,I remember that but didn't remember Reid modified them.
Sounds like that new episode should be cool 🙂
