OT - Total Lunar Eclipse Saturday night

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE:
Set aside some time this weekend for sky watching. On Saturday night, March 3rd, there's going to be a total eclipse of the Moon. This means the Moon will glide through the heart of Earth's shadow and turn a beautiful shade of sunset red. Totality can be seen from parts of all seven continents including all of Europe and Africa and the eastern half of North America.

Niiiiice. As I said, all cloudy where I live, but lots of time, the clouds broke up and there it was, in all its glory, with a red edge, white top. Great view!

no clouds the whole evening, it looked amazing!

No clouds at all, looked just great. Watched for more than 2 hours. It was cold though -9 degrees C.

-9 C. :shocked:

EDIT: Wow. 15 degrees F. Is that with or without wind chill? Wow. Coldest weather I've been in was -30 with the wind chill. And this poor Texan was suffering...

Without windchill ... if you add that (3 m/s, which is not very much) it was probably some 3 degrees C colder. But it was a wonderful night. We were all warm in our parkasand had hot tea in cour cups ... no, it was just plain hot tea!

Very awesome here in the Eastern US. Didn't see the beginning, but saw it from roughly the point just prior to full eclipse until it ended.

Well, there's another one in August, so maybe i'll get a chance to see that one.
