OT: To those who bought newegg refurb VIVO cards.....

I bought 3 VIVO cards so far from newegg refurb. But the cards didn't come w/ VIVO cables. So I cannot use or even test out the VIVO capabilities of the darn cards!! I called newegg and they said to call Gainward. I called Gainward about 3 weeks ago and was told I would be shipped some cables. None has arrived so far.

My roommate also bought a VIVO cable. He calls Gainward, Gainward tells him to call newegg and leave them alone. So what am I suppose to do? It seems both companies are giving us the brush-off. These cables are proprietary right? I can't get them anywhere else!!! How can newegg advertise VIVO but not give the VIVO cables?!!!

sorry i ask this in this forum but i know a lot of people here must be going through this too.

Unfortunetly, when you buy a refurb you have to assume that it will be a barebones purchase. I've got a Radeon VIVO here, and all you need for that is just the composite video cable to go either way. What does the jack look like on these Gainward cards?

If you look at the video card description it says bare oem card on most models if not all. It may have the dvi features but no cables. It pays to read the description very carefully in the refurb section.

I have a Gainward GF3 VIVO and it looks like the connector is proprietary. It doesn't use a standard s-video.

so am I SOL then? Still, if they advertise VIVO, it should have VIVO outta the box. I understand it's barebones but I was expecting no manual and no warranty card, etc. But the VIVO cable is the "essence" of the VIVO card. Without that, the card is half the card it's suppose to be.

I purchased a Gainward Geforce2 MX w/VIVO about 3 weeks. It came with the cds, the vivo plug and the box.
Looked fine and i coulda been fooled into thinking it was a new box. Two weeks earlier I got a Gainward Geforce2 TI/450 and that also came with the svideo to rca connector.
Both Refurbs. Both good deals

If u didnt get yours call gainward and have them ship u one. Call weekly until they send u one or ask for a supervisor.
Without the cable, the VIVO is useless.

Oem bare card means that's all you get...you have done the right thing by contacting gainward, in essence you have answered the question, yes you are sol..🙁
