OT: This forum

You know, I was wandering around other forums that I haven't posted in for months. CPU/OC, Motherboards, All-Things-Apple. And I realized something. They don't really have personality. Just people helping people.

Here, people know other people, and it has a personality. We have threads like this and this and all of the DC-OT threads (like Rudy's semi-weekly "Believe it or Not" threads) that'll make you laugh, cry, and all other feelings for your TeAmmates.

Thanks a lot guys, You make this place feel like a home.

Oh, and KEEP CRUNCHING, TeAm Anandtech.

Edited for details.

Revisiting those threads was just so good. You are perfectly right, this and many others threads make the DC-forum so good! :sun:

OT, I have some 18 years old single malt in my glass, and I am probably as mellow as the whiskey. 😉

Lots of it.

There's a difference between character and personality. Are you guys a personal team over at ATOT? hmmm

hehe, i didn't mean it in a "good" way, necessarily.

ATOT is going to the city to see lots and lots of stuff going on. ATDC is going back home to the smaller town to see all your friends again. 😀

Well said. :wine:

I think one of the major differences is that there are a lot less problems to solve regarding DC. And most problems can be fixed with a quick search. This leads to slower posts with more conversation and people actually getting to know each other before the posts get pushed back to page two.

That, and we are MUCH more willing to help each other out with stuff. If people feel bad in OT and they post about it, they usually get flamed or something, unless it is really bad. I don't think I've ever seen something like that over here--comes with being part of the community I guess.

EDIT: This thread makes me want to go back and re-read 'please delete'. 😀

I almost linked "please delete" and a few others, but I was afraid of starting another trend.

It's 2 am pdt and I'm lurking about on the DC forum. I should have taken my meds hours ago. I'm going to go do that now.

ok -- It's too bad that those things take about an hour to kick in. I'll be up.

Hey!!! I like the personality here, but there doesn't seem to be anyone to talk to at the moment.

Where's that guy - BMC - It must be about 1pm in Germany now.

Hey!!! Is anybody here??

:|

Here I am, rabrittain ... my lunch hour started just some 20 minutes ago.
I hear you and hope that your medication kicks in soon - or has already kicked in!
Hang in there mate - you can probably stand it quite a few minutes more ... and more ... and more. for you!

Hi! I hate that my sleep meds take an hour to take effect too. :| Ambien CR--yeehah. 4 am your time now, and your light is still on. 🙂

My cat used to walk across the keyboard when I was at work, and it would wake up my computer. I would get home and see messages in ICQ from friends, asking why I wasn't talking to them even though I was online. Took me a while to figure out what was going on.

Let's hope he doesn't learn: ctl-alt-del

You could perform that classic experiment:

Take an infinite number of cats and have them walk on an infinite number of keyboards for an infinite amount of time. They will either discover your password or create all the great works of Shakespeare.

Can you imagine how much the computer would hate the hair from the infinite cats. Poor computer.

I made this thread to put out my opinion, be nostalgic and have fun, not have another nef thread. Please ignore this thread if you intend to nef. 😉 I will ignore it if you do.

(You who have experience know what I am saying. 😛)
