Picked up a few of these in a great deal last week, and they arrived today. If anyone is curious, these are not labeled "Certified Plus" but rather just "Certified". However, take a look at this:

CDRIdentifier Results

Not bad, I'd say........:)

Lucky you.

BTW, did your other spindles say "Taiyo Yuden" as well?

Better than Ritek that's for sure.

True. The best TDK cdrs are probably made by TDK itself. The Certified Plus.

However, it has been shown over and over again that TDK has outsourced more than one manufacturer/factory to make their "entry level quality" 100pk spindles of the 100% Certified cdrs. The majority seem to be made by Ritek (not that good) and others are made by Taiyo Yuden which have a much better reputation.

Actually, top TY stuff is right there with anything out there.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion from anecdotal evidence that the TY made 100pk spindle of 100% Certified cdrs are probably "second quality" Taiyo Yudens - which in turn are still better than Ritek stuff. But that's just my opinion. I mean, why would Taiyo Yuden put their best effort into making 100pk spindles of TDK entry level cdrs and undercut their own products under other brand names? Especially for a spindle that you can get for some 16 dollars right now at Onvia?

That doesn't make sense to me or to anyone who has a marketing/economics background (like I do)
