Yeah, I love to smoke when I drink.

Another strange thing, I only like to smoke when it's dark out. I don't know why. Any of you other smokers relate to this? 😕

I only seem to want to smoke when I'm awake

The rest of the time.... I don't even think about it. 😀

Day one over. That wasn't too bad, only wanted to strangle her twice and left the kids completely alone 😀
No patches either 🙂
Now it starts getting harder 🙁
Thanks for the encouragement 😀 😀 😀

You CAN do it TAandy. I did! (now 4 months smoke free!) I even got my wife to quit. We are all better off for it. It is very difficult to do, but with the help of Zyban (Wellbutrin SR) you can break the habit. Fresh carrots helped with my oral fixation. Good Luck to you!!!

BTW, like 1sikbITCH said, after I quit and my wife continued to smoke, it made me sick also. I try to avoid smoke in general now, not because I'm afraid to fall off the wagon, but because it actually revolts me.

You have done one day cold turkey. Make it number two, number three etc and so on. You CAN do it!

Good luck. On Jan 13th, 2000, I quit smoking after 12 years, I was up to 2 packs a day at least, more if I went out at night. I couldn;t go up stairs any more, and on the phone people always asked why I was breathing so loud. I needed to quit. 3.4something years later and it is still hard sometimes, but it is worth it. I also loved to smoke, but I couldn;t do it any more.

A few tricks I used:

Wash everything in your house that smells like smoke--curtains, carpets, sheets, clothes, etc. Pay at the pump instead of going into the gas station--less temptation. Don't have "just one"--the hardest cigarette to resist is the second one, the first is easier (DAMHIKIJK). Chew gum if you need an oral fix, carry a pen to play with if you need something to do with your hands (the hand part was hardest for me, I'm a fidgeter). Hope this helps.

Oh, the thing about food tasting better, smells being stronger, etc.? I never noticed it. The thing about having more money? Hell yeah, that one was true for me. 😀

Good luck, man!! 😎

Good for you. I didn't smoke long (3.5 years) but I smoked a lot. I was smoking about 1.5 pouches of handrolling (unfiltered) a week. Instant cough. I've not had one since Dec 14 and I don't feel like it anymore. It grosses me out. What worked for me was being removed from an environment where I would smoke. I think I was most addicted to boredom, hence smoking (did that sound right?) and rolling them. You guys can do it! TeAm AT distributed quitting
