I hate it so much (considering how much of it I get...I'm still working on a job for tomorrow but am taking a break to post this:p) that I may have to spend the money on a new "power" rig for the inside of the house (not the crunch rack)...

Already bought a Seagate Baracuda 7200.7 drive 120GB (only $69.99 with no rebates)...it's a tad slower because only 2MB cache, but it's nice and quite.

Looking at the following items:

Abit IS7-E board (Intel 865PE chipset with all the goodies)
Intel P4 2.8GHz 800MHz FSB with HT
512MB Buffalo PC3200 ram (two sticks to do dual channel)
Some sort of buner
A decent video card (never been a big video junkie)....
Nice quiet case with quiet power supply and prefer a 120mm exhaust/intake fan

still deciding on what I want and how much I want (my wife wants to let me) spend....:p

(It should crank out WU's pretty fast! :) )

Sadly, I wish overtime was available for me at work, the extra cash would be nice :(

I get all the OT I want at work. It is our own special flex time, come in any time you want before 7 am and leave anytime you want after 4:30

Too bad I don't get paid for it though :(

:(

I'm very lucky here in that I get paid (time and a half) overtime even though I'm an Exempt Engineer. I do have to give 5 hours per week, so it doesn't kick in until 45 hours :)(). I can work as long as I want from 6:00am to whatever. Also have the option of building time up and taking off later, but that's only if I can get off...hehe! :p

Lately, been bringing home (after taxes) about $600 extra every two weeks...which helps on the updates very much! :)

I know what u mean... I made about $5K - $6K per year for the past few years. Well budget cuts eliminated the available overtime so even though I didn't get my pay cut the lack of overtime did the same thing. Really sucks! :(

I've averaged 20k overtime the last 3 years...and this year looks no different! (It's nice being the only programmer in the house sometimes! ;) )

I tried plugging overtime into babelfish but apparantly it's not a spanish word. I'm not familiar w this concept? You mean some people get paid for staying later than everyone else?

Unfortunately I'm salaried and don't get overtime. Once worked over 42 hours non stop without sleep and no special bonus, always VPN in from home, after hours production problems, weekend installs, etc, etc. Then again I left at 3 today to go to the bar cause I felt like it so maybe it works out in the end. ;)

Dude... I don't want to hear it about overtime. Since April 1st, I have worked a total of 1120 hours. That's an average of 80 per week. That is one of the main reasons why I haven't come here that much this summer. I think I have posted a total of 5 posts the last two months. :p

Now, if I wasn't saving my money for a new house, I would be getting myself a new puter as well. But I guess, that will have to wait. /me pets his Pii450 :p

LOL...nothing better than a new house !:)

If I weren't already on such a fast pace to pay mine off, I would spend more on it...but I can't spend all my money on it (would be nice to be out of debt)...I've got to live a little! :)

No, he's not pulling your leg. UAW members get triple time on holidays. That sounds about right from one of them. $75.00/hour would be sweet though! :)
