My 6 year old is having Sinus surgery tomorrow to clear out a complete obstruction on one side. It's fairly routine surgery, but not very pleasant. I'd appreciate it if my TeAm-mates could keep him in your thoughts/prayers over the next day two.

I will be thinking of you and your son and hope the best for him.

Nowadays this is a very common surgery. It was quite an ordeal 60 years ago when I had to undergo a similar procedure. Of course it was much harder then ... those dang operating room candles kept blowing out. ;) :D

I'm agnostic, but will throw mental, positive thoughts in your direction to help.

God bless your son, yourself and your son's mom!
Prepare a load of ice cream :) : it cools down the oral cavity (=mouth) where the roof is the floor of the sinuses, will give same pain relief :D . It'll also taste quite good and make him somewhat happier! Just do not make him sneeze! :Q This is a old advice, but it certainly helped me in that situation!

Take care!

Having spent 3 days in the hospital with my own son while he had (minor) surgery, I know the anxieties you are feeling.

It is going to be OK and you will be so very glad when it is over and your son is healed healthy and smiling (and yes, running over the top of you)

Your son and yourself and all of those who care so very much are in my heart and prayers.

Definately don't forget the ice cream! :)

Both of my kids had similar surgeries.
Ice cream for dinner put smiles on their faces. :D

Don't worry Andrew. Everything will be fine.

Thanks everyone for your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. We're heading up to the hospital early tomorrow morning, so I'll be signing off soon to get some shut eye ;).

The ice cream suggestion is one we certainly have covered. He LOVES ice cream, and it was the one thing we could count on when he had his tonsils and adnoids removed. The kid is certainly a tough little guy, especially for his size. With everything going on, he only weighs 36 pounds (which is way below the bottom percentile on the growth charts), but that didn't stop him from winning 4 first place ribbons at his last swim meet! He goes around telling people about his surgery, and that the only thing he's worried about is that the doctor told him he can't swim for two weeks afterwards!

I'll let you guys know how things go late tomorrow night or Thursday, and thanks again!

 Thanks! I needed that! Now if only I could convince my wife...she's the one whose REALLY stressed. I've been too busy the past 5 days helping to get a new bank branch up and running. Nothing like unbelieveable stress from work to take your mind of the stress at home
