My friend Stu used to use "TheMagicSmoke" as his handle (back in the mainframe days). 😉 According to him, there was some experiment done on some rare gases in a sealed tube, where the gas was sparked with electricity and changed to some other state? 😕 I don't exactly what it was, but he said that when the amount of current was increased, the "smoke" then dissapeared entirely and the technicians couldn't account for where it went, and thus the name.

I don't even know if it's true or not, but the point is "TheMagicSmoke" is already in use. 🙂

Since you mention typing, here's a little trivia: did you know that "stewardess" is supposedly the longest English word that can be typed with one hand? 😉

Also, I think that some people are missing the point of the thread - not the ones who are teasing Smoke about it, but the ones that thought he actually had an operation to have... them... removed. :Q

My appologies for making light of the subject if Smoke really did have an operation, but AFAIK I am pretty sure this is all just in jest. 🙂

The only 15-letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is "uncopyrightable".

The only ten-letter word you can spell using just the top row of letters of a keyboard is "typewriter".

And the reason it's called a "typewriter" is because those were the keys that are along the top of the keyboard, and therefore salesmen were able to type it quickly to show "just how quick" it is to use one.
