Took a while for my status to be approved and processing but it's finally in the works. Took numerous phone calls and faxes of my documents as well. Now let's see how long it takes to finally be shipped. After this little fiasco I don't think I would ever buy a Seagate drive with a rebate. Great drive, just horrible rebates.

The best rebates i've ever dealt with are Western Digital and Canon. Quick, efficient, and online status was accurate.

Mine has taken quite some time. I sent in my rebate in early september. They say they got it on Sept 23rd and it's been in the final stages since I received a confirmation email from them on 9-24-04. VERY slow.

Yeh, it takes about 2 months. Mine said that it was in "Final Processing" even after I received it. You should see it by the end of the month.

Almost the same exact experience here... twice even. The first time, they said they never recieved it so I faxed it in and it was actually fairly quick after that so I thought maybe it really did just get lost in the mail. So I bought another Seagate drive w/ a rebate and have had almost the same experience. Again, they said they never recieved it so I faxed it in again... only this time it's taking them forever to process my resubmission. They finally gave me a rebate tracking # over the phone, but it only works on their phone system and still doesn't show up on their website. Both rebates were from El Paso, TX. I'll probably never buy another Seagate drive with a large rebate again either.

I've only ever bought 1 Seagate drive... 200 gig at compusa a few weeks ago. It had a $50 rebate, and it came in the mail this weekend. I will probably buy another one if the price is right, and the rebate is big enough.

I haven't had any problems with my Seagate MIRs. Currently waiting on 2 of them, have done 2 or 3 others in the past. Just keep photocopies of everything, and if it doesn't arrive, call them. Though I've never had any problems.

Done 2 Seagate rebates this year and they do take awhile.
About 2 - 3 months from the time you mail it, till' the time you get your check.
BTW, Seagate has a limit of one rebate per same drive per year.
I did 2 successfully this year for a 120gig & 160gig, no problem.
