OT: Sad story :(

Dasm 🙁:|

That bastard doesn't deserve to be set free. Evar.

I can't imagine how bad it would be for one of my friends to be murdered by a police officer...actually, be murdered at all 🙁 (I'm 19 too)

Dasm...just dasm 🙁

It's a good thing I am still around. Last year I got into a fight with him when he entered my residence for having a little too loud of a party. I thought he entered for no reason and I got scared, but aparantly my neighbors had called and complained. I am very glad he did not take out me what he did to her.
There is a better link right here for the story. http://www.adn.com/alaska_ap/story/4253559p-4264249c.html
msnbc does not have all the details. But that link requires registering which is why I never posted it in the first place. I am mad at the bail amount since his family has that kind of money. It should have been set much higher.

It's all very saddening considering she was a good friend of my sister. Back in Aug she had told me he did it, but I brushed it off as female gossip.

We need a :cry; emoticon here.

I noticed it said "Owens was being held on $500,000 bail"...does that mean he was bailed out?? 🙁

Seems many times after a tragedy people say, "we all knew he was kinda weird" or in this case the guy had a bad reputation. And as a police officer at that!! :Q :| Why is it that something terrible has to happen before something is done about it? Not that it will bring her back but I hope her family nails this guy and his dept to the wall.

this is what happens when you hire 100,000 more ppl to become police officers.
you get more people that have no business being cops.
you get guys with chips on their shoulders and are ex-jocks in HS that just use the badge as an excuse to beat ppl up.
its sad how many people are shot by police, some are justified...some are ridiculous. what is more ridiculous is that most of the time these cops get away with it too. get away with becoming judge, jury and executioner right there on the spot.
its sick what is happening in this country.
