I'm sure most of you read the locked thread from yesterday concerning the trade dispute between stratusfear3 and Fir3wir3. Matt was banned (for past violations) but asked me to post this for him. Normally I'd decline, as I'm usually not one to ruffle any feathers, but in this case I offered my services Because I think he got treated a little unfairly here. Not because he was banned, but because of two other reasons:
1) As usual, a bunch of (senior, golden, and platinum) members jumped on the "Down with trolls!" bandwagon before hearing both sides of the story...even one of the helpful(?) members of trollhunters.com was guilty of this!
2) All of his posts in that thread where he is explaining his side of the story have been deleted! Excuse me? What could possibly be the logic for that move?
Anyways, here's the conversation I had with him (bear with me here as I'm not sure what I'm doing

People in the thread recommended that there should be a "refferee" to determine what exactly unfolded during this transaction. Perhaps you could post something like that for me, so people can make an accurate determination of what happened rather than base their opinions of myself and fir3wir3 on propaganda. LMK if you can help.

Also, I suggest you visit here: http://www.trollhunters.com/ and talk to one of the listed people who donate their time in helping with these matters. Of the listed people, two participated in the locked thread the other day...Blade and BigC. If I were you I'd contact Blade, as he seemed to genuinely want to get both sides of the story while BigC seemed to pass judgement far too quickly without wishing to hear your side of the story.
I e-mailed the mods. Not asking why the thread was locked, but why the posts that you made defending/relating your side of the story were all deleted. Seemed a little too much like Ramses removing Moses' name from everything in The Ten Commandments. Kind of silly if you ask me...especially if anyone gets jacked by FirWir3, who might not have dealt with him if those posts were left up. In any event, the mods haven't gotten back to me. (what a shock!)
Anyways, get back to me and I'll start a thread.

It sounds like the two are working on a resolution (although it seems kinda fishy that as soon as a bunch of people requested a screen shot of Fir3wir3's PP records after April 20th he suddenly wants to settle this privately...after spending all day publicly airing his version of the details of the deal).
I think Matt just doesn't want to be labled a bad trader. Many here will hold a negative opinion of him for that hacking-into-the-school-computer fiasco, but as far as trading goes...

I am the moderator who deleted Matt Nelson's posts as stratusfear3. I deleted them because he was on line at the time, which was not his right. In fact, he had no right to be trading here as stratusfear (1, 2, or 3) because he had previously been banned multiple times.
fir3wir3's problems are a separate issue. Matt Nelson can settle his problems with him anywhere but on AnandTech. Matt Nelson will not be welcome on our forums in this millenium.

I don't see how being being on line when he wasn't supposed to be merits all of his posts being deleted...especially(!) when those posts could help him recover a possible loss of $700. But, whatever...you're the boss.
