Just reply or PM yourself, if done in a kind manner you can't go wrong (well.. hardly ever ;)) Something like "Hi RJ45, I'm certain you'll get better response to your question in the Networking* forum, you'll want to repost your question there." Then when his orginal thread gets locked the message will be complete.

*Or a different forum if you think Networking isn't "it".

There are a few other OT posts in HT right now also.
A quick polite responce in the thread letting him know what the correct location would be and a FI post or Mod PM to alert them so they can move it to it's appropriate location is usually pretty good.
