OT - Outlook Express Question - Now is Outlook with 2 profiles

OK so now that I am there, anyone want to take a crack at getting outlook to start with a specific profile, with it's own shortcut.

Example. I have an outlook icon that when I press it brings up outlook and asks me which profile to use. But is there a way to set up an icon called "Wife" and one called "Me" and then the "Wife" icon would bring up her profile and the "Me" icon would bring up mine?

I just set Outlook Express to leave a copy of the message on the server, and then I check my mail on 2 computers. I don't think that's what you wanted to do though is it?

Hi MoFunk.
Open up outlook express.
Click on "file", then "Identities", then "Add New Identities".
I havent tried it yet so let us know what you find please.

1) winr actually has answered your question, however, what this will do is check all identities on send/receive and dump all in the inbox mixed together.

What I suggest you do in ADDITION, is write two rules to move incoming mail, based on the "TO" address, to two new inbox folders, yours and hers.

2) Of course I always provided separate machines 😉

3) And then there is the entirely DIFFERANT approach, which is create machine logins, which provide totally different desktops for each user on the machine. Then you each have your own OE, your own cookies and favorites, etc.

...which is my favorite approach.

My parents and I each have logins (the same username and password) on both machines, but their Outlook PST is only on their "primary" machine. However, I keep the favorites and stuff synchronized, so we can use each others' machines if necessary. The ideal setup (which I don't have the money, time, or patience to implement) would be a Windows 2003 Server as Domain Controller with a shared network drive for Roaming Profiles. 😛
