OT/ Ok guys, I'm stumped on why this cpu won't boot, any ideas?

I have a Tekram ZX slot 1 motherboard and a C366 on a slocket. The problem is the cpu will not boot at all. The screen just stays blank.🙁

Now here's the strange part, the C366 and slocket work perfect, and will run at 458mhz in my BX6rev2.0 motherboard. So I know the slocket and cpu are ok.🙂 Unfortunately it won't do 550mhz, the screen just remains blank.🙁

I thought ok my motherboard must be bad. So I tried a C300a, P3-500e & P2-233 and all 3 worked great in the Tekram ZX motherboard.😕

Oh BTW I have an identical motherboard with the same bios running a C366@550mhz.

The only think I can think of is the Tekram only has the option to force 100mhz fsb or auto detect fsb. I'm thinking maybe the motherboard is getting confused and is trying to run the cpu on a 100mhz fsb. Since the slocket doesn't have any jumpers I have no way to force a 66mhz fsb.🙁

The only problem with this is my BX6 autodetected the fsb bus just fine with the slocket.😕 Anyone have any ideas?🙂

Apparently it is autodetecting FSB correctly on a 300A (66) and a 500E (100), could it be the slocket is not seating correctly in the slot? Did you try running that 366 on the slocket that is currently running at 550 on the other MB?

Unless you have forced the bios to select 100 MHz FSB it should auto detect at 66 MHz ,have you double checked the bios settings?

JimMc the slocket is seated good. I haven't had time to try the cpu in the other slocket yet. If I ever get time I'll try it though. However the cpu & slocket I did try worked fine in my BX6.😕

Assim1 I've triple checked everything in the bios and every jumper on the motherboard and it's still a no go.:|

Btw thanks for the bump Sukhoi.🙂

What about plugging in a 100 MHz cpu & forcing the bios to go to 66MHz

Doh! ,silly me ,didnt see you 1st mention no slocket jumpers!
