Anyone have information about the K7S6A? Ill search on it shortly, but if anyone has any yay or nay stories they would like to share Id love to hear them!
 
Aw sh!t, and I just placed an order with newegg a few days ago. Now the XP 1700+ has fallen from $57 to $50, and they have this great deal on the refurb board (which could go in my server and let me use my current duron in the server where it would be faster than the celeron that the server currently has). Too bad I couldn't have ordered with a credit card, because then it might have been easier to cancel the order and redo it. 🙁

I have one - it is pretty decent for a plain setup. no jumpers or setting to switch between DDR and SDRAM but then again it has no Overclocking options🙁

Pretty decent board though - heck i'm giving it to my mother-in-law so it must be stable 😉😛

You may be thinking of the K7S5A. The 6A does not have SDRAM slots and does have some overclocking capabilities. Im not looking for anything fancy, I was planning on going with the 5A, but the 6A appears to be a little better.
 
I thought about getting a 6a but I have no DDR to put in it. I don't want to take any of my DDR out of my main rig, and all my other rigs have PC133 cuz it's so easy and cheap to get ahold of!

Yes i was but newegg didn't have any "6a"s in the refurb section at the time of my post so i assumed it was a typo 😉🙂

OK - the k7s5a are $35 and the k6a's are $45 😉 Thanks for the link LyNx01 - Mozilla must not have wanted me to see it - but IE let me see both boards.

anywho - take my earilier post for what it is - my views on the "5A" version 😀 good for plain use but won't set the world on fire😀

I have 2 K7S6A boards. There pretty good. running a 1600xp on one. it's doing 3:30 a wu @ 150 fsb. This board use's DDR only, has vcore adj. some ram adj. The next setting after 150 fsb is 166 but i haven't tryed that yet. It use's the SiS 745 chipset compaired to the 735 in the K7S5A. I got these at a local store for 57.00 dollars.
 
I just ordered a 1700+ on friday for $57. Now they are $50. I am soo sad 🙁 Ah well. no biggie.

Wow, this XP 2100+ @ 2700+ speed is cranking out WUs 1 every 2:33 minutes. Hot diggity dog.
 
Hmm.. all the ECS boards are gone.. I wonder where some of them went to..?
