OT: need second opinions

I have my system folding for F@H for 24/almost 7. Lately I have upgraded some of computer parts, mostly for quiet environment. I replaced Volcano 7+ with Zalman 7000-AlCu. I'm going to replace 3 of my case fans to something quieter (2500RPM, 28dBa) another 2 already the quiet ones (Vantec Stealth Fan). I also bought and installed Vantec Nexus 201 Fan Controller to adjust speed of those 3 case fans at night (very quiet 😀).

The thing is my system is not that loud even all the fans spin at full speed. So I'm wondering if it is worth to keep that Nexus 201 in my system. Don't forget I'm folding 24/almost 7 at 85-100% CPU Usage, so I need something to cool my system down. I, most of the time, let all fans run at full speed only sometime at night I decrease voltage on Nexus to like 50-75% of speed.

One other thing, will this Nexus Controller can handle 24/7 usage? 2 of my Led Fans are dying (the led lights are not on anymore, sometime blinking sometime completly off) from continueously used. I'm concern of Led Light on Nexus that going to be like my Led Fans. And also from a lot of review that a lot have problem with capacitors in nexus burning out pretty fast.

From this two concerns made me think twice on this Nexus Contraller and I need your guys' opinions. I like the look of Nexus and to be able to control speed of my fans but if it's not worth for us (Folding Geeks) then I think I wouldn't keep it.

You really do not want to use a fan controller. It produces spikes\noise in the system electrical system and can damage such things
as your video card , memory and HDD's. Fan controlers are really bad news. Stay away from them.

Really? I've never heard of that before. All I've heard is about some buzzing sound and capacitor burning out. So far it has been really great in my system. I can reduce a lot of noise at night but then I can't fold at 100% usage in order to keep CPU temp below 50c . BTW it is overclock 2.53@3.15 at default voltage.

I've never added any fans to any system other than the CPU fan. Including running machines in 150 degree attic.
As long as you do not have a thermal runaway condition, things will be fine running within specs.
