I know I have been here for a long time, back during the bb days, and I know some of these off topic threads are allowed once in a great while. Mods, please lock if you believe this to get out of hand. But I was wondering if I could get some help from you DC'rs since I have been around here long enough to know that this is the best place to get help of all kinds. Wether it's computer parts or tweaks.

I got my hands on a 1969 Arctic Cat Panther snowmobile with a 12hp Kohler 4 stroke single cylinder engine in it. Pictures of what I have done so far can be found HERE. They only made 885 with this motor in that year. It was also the last year of the 4 stroke engine. Unless of course you count the new ones out today. :D

I have a small parts list that I made up for parts that I need to complete the project. And I know a lot of you are all over the world. Even some parts may be found outside of the US. IE: a rare 1972 Arctic Cat Lynx was found in Australia and so far it's the only one known to exist. But the more people I ask, the better my chances are to find the parts I need.

Parts Needed:

1) Tie Rods
2) Drive Cogs (complete shaft???)
3) Choke Cable
4) Gas Tank
5) Windshield
6) Ignition Switch

Any help would be greatly appriciated. Some of these parts are extreamly hard to find. Like the windshield. If it's a BLUE one, it's worth some bucks.

And to keep this somewhat on topic, I am rooting for the "No stinkin' Name But We Have Ray's Cane!" only because Ray has beat me before and that cane does hurt. :D

Well, for the age, I am not sure if it will do one a week. :p But I could overclock it with some nitro but I don't think it would last too long. :D

Well, there should be some snowmobilers out there somewhere. You can start asking around and sometimes that is the best start. That's where I found a lot of the parts already. You never know. And well, if you have any leads. Just let me know. :D The parts list is in the first post. And what kinda sled it is also.

I will call up a few local places I know have snowmobile parts but I really doubt I can find anything that rare... But on a side not you might want to post this over at ATOT so that I don't forget about it. ;)

do you need the parts to be "original".......if not , you can convert any cable to work......same with tie rods.....gonna take some junk yard looking but any rod with the same ends will work .....you can weld the rod to lenght.....as i see it your only big problem will be the wind shield , gas tank and drive cogs/shafts........the other things you can inprovise.....if.....you arnt going for a spot on resto. good luck.........

Actualy, I can find the cogs. Gas tank I think I fixed. (I hope)

It won't be a PERFECT resto. I just don't have the time and I don't want to put the money into it either. I just thought maybe someone would have some leads. :D
