OT: Need help with Outlook 2000 & Windows 2000

Ok my IBM laptop came with Windows 2000 and Office 2000 to give some background on the system. Here is the deal. I ask it to retrieve my mail and it asks me for my password -- I enter the password and tell it to save it -- it doesn't save it and asks me again the next time I go to retrieve my mail. So I try to save it by going to the account options and telling it to save it there but no luck same thing. What gives?

I think a differnent program on this laptop had the same problem but I don't remember what it was so maybe it isn't an issue anymore.

Baldy,
This MS document may help: Password doesn't save

Be sure to use regedit32, as it has the permissions access, plain regedit doesn't. And regedit32 isn't found in my path, I had to do a search for it before I could run it.

Hope this helps! 😀

Start ->
Run ->
regedt32.exe
(notice it is not spelled "regedit32" but "regedt32" good ole 8.3 naming)

Funny thing is that mine started doing the same thing tonight.
Using Win 2K & Outlook 2K
I just went to the mail server and changed my password to the old one and then Outlook started working right again.
Weird eh?
