OT: need back-up internet provider

I am looking for a back-up dialup internet provider. I have been using XO-Concentric @ $19.95/mo unlimited. Is there anyone else that "you would" recommend with a national coverage for less?

I don't mind buying 6 or 12 months access at a time.

I have NetZero loaded on my laptop for when I travel. I wouldn't say that I give them 4 stars (or 3 or even 2), but it's worth every penny I pay. I'm assuming when you're talking about a backup ISP you're referring to something to use when you cable/dsl goes out. Unless you're service is going out every day, I would use them. If I'm totally offbase here then I can vouch for Concentric...I had a dial up w them for about 4 years. I believe you can buy 6 or 12 months at a time at a discount or get it down to <$10 a month with only a few hours of time.

Check out highstream.net. A national ISP that has cheap rates. YMMV as to access numbers, but give a look at thier site. Everything is done on-line with them, which may be an issue, but they do have a non 1-800 phone number to call for really important issues. Of the half dozen or so accounts that I have set up for others, none have had any problems that I am aware of..........
