Looks good to me as well, but I think you could do better with a different choice of OS for a web server, unless [lack of] stability and performance don't matter.

Well Cow Tipping is seasonal, it only happens in the spring.

Thanks for all the kind words guys I appriciate it. As to using win98se and it being unstable I have found that if you dont use the machine for a whole bunch of things it is pretty good. I tried to use Red Hat but the learning curve for installing the modules for the forum was a little beyond me. As I get older new things become a lot harder to learn.

Not trying to start a OS flame war here but Win2K has done a pretty good job for all the guys I've been working for.

There is a way to run a secure webserver on Win 95 and up.
You have to use the right software though, and it's no longer in production - meaning you have to get it second hand.

Are you guys noticing any real security problems with his set up or are you just "nit picking"?

I was playing around with PHPBB myself. It is very cool! I still have a long way to go with it but it is fun.

Well according to his server he is on:

Apache/1.3.14 Server at localhost Port 80

There's a lot of good ways to secure Apache on anything, mucho info out there about it.

Looks good, what kind of upload speed is there on the cable line because it loads pretty darn fast for being cable hosted.

Well I am paying for 128 up but get about 240 or better. Cheap too $25.00 a month including the modem on Charter Pipeline.

I am going to change to a different port when I put the site up permaninate and that will help the security some. I know one thing, that the setup I have is a heck of a lot better than using IIS even with the patches.
Actually once I got the PHPbb figured out it is a breeze to install, and Apache is so easy that I cannot believe that it took me so long to get it figured out.
