System Announcement

During the scheduled move of our DNS2Go servers we experienced a technical problem. Our DNS2Go Administrative team is devoting all of their attention and resources to bringing your domains back online. We hope to have DNS2Go service restored by this evening.

Once our DNS servers are back Online your DNS2Go client should reconnect automatically. If it does not, simply double click on the rocket icon in your system tray and click Connect.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

So all crunchers outside my lan can't submit anything.:disgust:

Sorry about the down time, I really hope they get working soon. All of my fleet boxes have enough wus for 5days, so I'm ok for now.

Kamper
I hope you have Seti driver and a few wus stashed in them.

Good morning Paf,

I noticed some problems last night right before I went to bed.

I just got up a little while ago and noticed I couldn't reach my own Q via the internet from my primary workstation.

Sure enough there were PMs waiting for me here asking what the problem may be with my Q! 🙁

I could address my Q Server via my LAN so the computer is running just fine. Upon going over to my workshop (location of the Q machine) I noticed that the little "ROCKET" was indicating no connection with "DNS2GO. I tried to manually force the connection without any success.

Then I tried to visit the DNS2GO website to see if there was any announcement ... their website is "off the air".

So I guess their equipment changeover is not going to well..

Nothing we can do but wait it out and see if they get things fixed.

So all of the TeAm SetiQueues that use DNS2GO are currently off line.

The rest of the TeAm Qs appear OK

It is too soon to tell our CLIENTS to move to other Qs ... let's give DNS2GO a little time.

Actually, I'll give them a call right now and see what they have to say. 😉

It has been intermittent since last evening. The error log has over 250 entries.:Q

Still on hold.

Here's the deal.

They are having connection difficulties with their dns2go.com customers. They are thinking about just assigning us new addresses. :Q

I explained that I was in contact with a few other customers of theirs and a change of address would be very damaging to our "business".

I further explained that we had hundreds of CLIENTS that would have to be contacted if they changed our web addresses and that some of them would be very difficult to contact ... and others would be impossible. :Q

The simple web address change was what they had in mind (and might be able to be done this morning) but keeping the dns2go.com address was going to definitely take longer to fix. We may be down for the rest of the day ... at least.

So if anyone using the dns2go.com SetiQueues is in need of WUs, they had better switch to one of the other TeAm Queues!

This would be important to those using non-caching Seti installations!

Thanks Greg,

I was going to call them myself today, it's been very erratic yesterday as afew were able to connect, but nothing today!:|

I wonder if we'll get a discount on the membership??? Probably not! It has been very reliable for the last 2 years , until they
decided to change thier servers!!

So we wait to see how it goes! Hope they get it fixed today!!!

Hmmm, let me express my frustration with this interruption as well. When you're actually spending money for a dynamic DNS service, you expect it to work! 🙁🙁

Has anyone out there had good luck with one of the free dynamic DNS services? I've been thinking about saving the $$$ I spend on dns2go.com when my account is up for renewal and this pretty much seals the deal for me.

I'm actually looking at getting a Static IP address with my new Internet provider when I move later this month.

Keeping my fingers crossed for quick resolution!

Thanks for the heads up Paf. My 2 Linux boxen need connections so I just switched them over to the Setiathome site
until the dns2go situation is resolved.

Also thanks to Smokeball.

Maybe they have seperate servers in Europe?? 😕

Watch out if they try to update them if this is the case!!!

Mine is still down !:|

I don't know whether they did send me an email saying they were changing servers...I don't use that email account any more...maybe i better change the address to one that is still in existance 😉

But it went off for an hour or two like it should have done, and has been back on since. I use SiteUptime to track my domain ever half an hour (you can pay to have more regularly) and it emails me if it's down. With the premium service you can have it SMS you when it's down/available!!

Time to go change registered email addresses

Just as reported by r0tt3n1, it appears that the dns2go.com service is once again working.

I noticed the first WU my Q received after the outage was at 9:07 AM. They have been pouring in since then. 🙂
