When I got home at about 11:30pm Central time, I dialed up so I could check out a few things on my computer in the basement. I came back up after playing starcraft on the lan with a friend to find my computer going crazy. It didn't respond to anything. The screen kept flickering and I think there was probably a couple hundred instances of Norton AntiVirus going. Does anyone know of anything that would cause this? I really doubt SETI could do such a thing

LyNx01, I'd have to say that the problem lies w/ Norton vs. SETI; have you done a reboot yet?

I've noticed Norton Utilities 2003 (XP compatible) does not integrate well with XP. Drive optimization does not register correctly, and the system doctor is VERY slow to update. XP does not allow NAV to optimize the page file or registry, as it did in 98. I have defragged my hdd with both Norton and Windows and System Doctor still shows it 81% optimized and will display an alarm (I disabled the optimize window to get rid of the alarm).

I'm running Win2k pro. I really didn't want to reboot, because I thought maybe it was a virus, but I had no choice. I couldn't do anything at all. If it hadn't been my computer it probably would have been pretty humorus :)

This is the first time i've had any problems at all with Norton antivirus, or this rig for that matter. It's been a very stable rig for me!
