OT: Moved Into My Dorm Room!

Got all moved into my dorm room today! 😀 I love this high speed internet, it's great. How would I go about hosting a BF1942 game? I've got the dually all set up to host games 😀

Just sharing with everyone! First day of dorm life is going pretty good.

I'm moving my daughter into her dorm tomorrow. Her first year, her first dorm room.
Gotta hook up her PC and install her new HP Printer/Scanner/Copier (the one with the camera memory card slots)
Don't ask. I've promised her to ViRge. (when he grows up) 🙂

We've got three rigs in here already and the rents think it's too many computers already. I'd upload a pic right now but the internet has gone to about 128/128 speeds which sucks big balls. XP2000@stock, XP1600 @2200, and a dually 1900+.

Noooo!! i was hoping to hop on your BF1942 server 🙁 Seems like every 1 else in the dorm is doin the same.

1. Install BF1942 (retail, or dedicated server version, depending on your preferences)
2. Download any custom maps you want, making sure you have the Server versions, and place them in the directory it tells you to.
3. Download BlackBag Operation's BF1942 Dedicated Server Manager 2.0
4. Follow instructions with the server manager to set it up as a local/internet game, with settings for max. players, bots (if running in Co-Op mode), spawn times, ticket ratios, map rotations etc
5. Let us know the address it's using
6. Fire up BF1942 and connect to your server, and let us kick your butts 🙂

Edit: I suck at teh l1nk4g3

Mmm, 1U rackmount cases would be convenient and space-saving. 😛

Apparently I missed it whenever you said before, but what university are you at, LyNx01?

I see Illinois in the profiles...you aren't at UIUC are you? We aren't supposed to move in for another week. 😕

Network speeds all good now. Bad router was part of it (belkin refurbed). 2300/2500 are the speeds. Nothing too great but beats the hell out of 128 upload on cable at home.

I'm in the same boat here, moving out to Indiana to move in to my dorm room. It should be an interesting experience.

I'll attest to that! Wait... our tuition goes up 5-10% every year... perhaps my computers caused that? 🙂
