OT Microsoft Ruling

Just finished reading the 97 page judge's ruling on the Microsoft antitrust case at Microsoft case.

Wow, what a pile of bs. Let's see, the original judge as well as the Appeals Court find Microsoft guilty of monopolistic behavior and various and multiple illegal threats against any and all competitors. The Justice Dept and Microsoft make an agreement in secret that essentially punishes none of that behavior, nor mitigates it in the future. The idiot new judge, a former DOJ prosecutor, "rubber stamps" the Ashcroft DOJ/Microsoft agreement except makes it even worse for consumers by making the so-called independent members of Microsoft Board of Directors "responsible" for making sure that Microsoft doesn't do anything bad any more! Talk about letting the foxes in the henhouse!

Sorry about the OT. This case just makes me goofy:|

It just shows that corporations in America can do whatever they want to if they bribe enough people in the government. RIAA does this too; it's enough to make a person sick. :disgust:

Oh, come on now. The RIAA is made up of a bunch of fine upstanding people who have the artists best interests in mind. Bwhahahahahahahaha. Sorry, couldn't keep a straight face on that one! 😛

For those of you that didn't follow the court procedings The Register has an archive of news concerning this case US vs. Microsoft here.

These news come from October 1998 to April 2000
