I bought one of these things a few months back for $70. Why are used ones now selling on eBay for $175? Can they predict the lottery or something? What's so special about them?

OOS on amazon. Maybe they've been replaced by an inferior model. Alot of things wireless don't seem to be able to go though many walls, or transmit through diffrent floors. The reviews suggest that these can. Prices always get out of hand when things get rare.

Perhaps moving this post to the networking forum will give you a better response. We're all very sloppy here; doubt many of us DCers use wireless.

These things have been "on again off again" for a while. IIRC, they were pulled a while back for FCC reasons. Something about being able to hook it up to an AP other than the WAP11, which could result in a device outputting more power than allowing via FCC part15.

So linksys did something with the cabling? or something and they were selling them again, but I heard they stopped again.

I have a WAP11 and was gonna get one, but every time I look has been one of the "off again" times.

I had mine hooked to a G router. It did a passable job, but not great. I have that for sale on eBay and will replace it with an Airstation with much better range for about $20 more. I'm going to use the money when the booster sells to get an A64 3200. I was just wondering why the price went up to almost $200. I thought it would bring in like $25 or so.
