OT (kinda): Barton or T-bred for DC projects?

Hi!

First:  Congrats to myself for 1000 SETI WUs  <--- proud!

Second: Any experiences in here with either Barton or T-bred Athlons and which one is better for SETI or any other DC project? I mean Barton's 512kb cache sound good according to the Pentium Mobile with 1MB and how fast it crunches SETI WUs. But T-bred has higher MHz numbers. I planing on getting an XP 2600+. T-bred is somewhat slightly over 2 GHz and Barton about 100 Mhz below.

Any help appreciated! 🙂

PS: Reason for upgrade is that after 1000 SETI WUs is shifted my main machine (XP2000+ Palomino) to ClimatePrediction. But that takes FOR EVER!!!! And that is not acceptable 😉

Personnaly I would get the Barton and run it on a 200FSB at around 2.2ghz anad get the best of both worlds!!!

Hehe 😉 .... u mean .... err .... what was that bad word again .... "overclocking" it .... hmmm .... ain't I gonna lose my waranty then ..... ? 😉

I am running a Barton 2500+ @ 2.25 and a TB 2100+ @ 2.14 and the Barton is slightly faster at crunchingbut not much. Avg time for each is probably 2:25/WU. Best time I have seen for Barton is 1:55 and TB is 1:56. So not much difference. Both have a little headroom left on the overclock!
