Hi TeAm,

Been a long time since I've posted on AT, and even longer since I posted on DC. Some of you may notice that production from the Pie fleet has been down in the last 6-12 months. Much of that reason has been because I have been hard at work, almost 12-15 hours a day, building up a little computer sales and service empire of my own down here in Australia! My interest in computers has been around since I was 12 and bought my first computer from AST (may they rest in peace!) - 486DX2-50! What a beast!

Anyway, I started my business in about 1999, around the same time that I started cracking SETI (not for TA at that time, not for any team for that matter!). Anyway, I started by being a network and systems admin for a couple of big schools down here, doing this part time 2-3 days per week while i was at high school and uni. Anyway, about 12 months ago I embarked on making this far more than a hobby. Signed up with major component distributors, hired some employees, worked every breathing second of my day, and finally, thinigs are starting to pay off a little bit! Not that I've had a salary in the last 6 months at all, but I'm happy that things are growing!

The fact that I started this as a formal business means that I have been unable to run SETI on any clients' computers anymore, simply because there is too much at stake now (not just one contract at one school, but all my contracts and corporate liability which could shoot this venture down before it's even started!).

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys here know what I was up to! Even though I haven't been posting here all year, doesn't mean I haven't been lurking around at random moments - for a breath of fresh air!

Finally, as a bit more of an explanation I guess, jump on over to EDU Technology and check out our site, and get my hit count up!! hehe!!

Have a great one TeAm.

I could never have the patience to deal with computers day in & day out. Just dealing with the couple pcs I have now seems to drive me half mad. Much luck on business venture.:D

Hi, Pie Guy!

Best of luck to you on your business venture. If I lived in The Land Down Under, I'd send all of my business your way. ;)

Don't be such a stranger, Andrew. Good to hear from you again.

:)

Hay Pie Dude, Good to see you posting again. Hopefully you will have
a little more time to post and let know how things are going. You can
if you hire some good people so you don't have to have your hands
in every little project...

Again, good to hear from you,
HayHauler

Hi pie :)

Nice to hear from you again.
Nice site, but you might wanna check it in firefox. The Search your website box at the top is double when viewed the first time :p
Well, did an extra look, and its the picture with the "Search Our Website" witch isnt positioned correctly on top of the search box, but only in FF.

Thanks for the kind words TeAm! Once again, it's great to see that this TeAm is so different from any other since we're nice and welcoming to everybody, regardless of their SETI (or other project) production stats!

I could imagine being shot to pieces at another team if my production did anything but keep going up, but you guys, once again, clearly rule! :D :D :D

Thanks for the heads up on sections of the site that seem to be playing up - i'm not HTML / PHP /Anything programmer at all, but I'll get it looked at!

Cheers
PD

Welcome back!

I was wondering what this enigmatic cat with all the WU but listed as inactive was like.

Glad to hear that your venture is growing and best of luck to you.

Thanks again guys! As a side note, I will be bringing part part of a herd that should generate around 100-120 WUs/day. Keep an eye out over the coming days and weeks!

Assim1, those 100WUs worth of machines are our office machines, and our server. Should be putting out between 80 and 110 WUs per day methinks!
