Hi TeAm,
Been a long time since I've posted on AT, and even longer since I posted on DC. Some of you may notice that production from the Pie fleet has been down in the last 6-12 months. Much of that reason has been because I have been hard at work, almost 12-15 hours a day, building up a little computer sales and service empire of my own down here in Australia! My interest in computers has been around since I was 12 and bought my first computer from AST (may they rest in peace!) - 486DX2-50! What a beast!
Anyway, I started my business in about 1999, around the same time that I started cracking SETI (not for TA at that time, not for any team for that matter!). Anyway, I started by being a network and systems admin for a couple of big schools down here, doing this part time 2-3 days per week while i was at high school and uni. Anyway, about 12 months ago I embarked on making this far more than a hobby. Signed up with major component distributors, hired some employees, worked every breathing second of my day, and finally, thinigs are starting to pay off a little bit! Not that I've had a salary in the last 6 months at all, but I'm happy that things are growing!
The fact that I started this as a formal business means that I have been unable to run SETI on any clients' computers anymore, simply because there is too much at stake now (not just one contract at one school, but all my contracts and corporate liability which could shoot this venture down before it's even started!).
Anyway, just wanted to let you guys here know what I was up to! Even though I haven't been posting here all year, doesn't mean I haven't been lurking around at random moments - for a breath of fresh air!
Finally, as a bit more of an explanation I guess, jump on over to EDU Technology and check out our site, and get my hit count up!! hehe!!
Have a great one TeAm.
