Okay, here's the deal...I've been languishing with the ESS Audiodrive 1869 ISA soundcard for around 3 years...It does it's job, or more accurately, DID...my problem is as follows:
In an attempt to update all my rig's drivers, I downloaded two sets of drivers-one from "windrivers.com" in a zip labeled "5025.zip" and one from the ESS support page labeled "1327.zip". When the ESS page's drivers were installed, I get no sound anymore...period, as if Windows had no idea a card was there; there isn' even a Volume Settings thingy in the toolbar anymore, and MScomfig won't get it up, nor will running the prog from Accessories/Multimedia on the Start Menu...but in looking at System properties, the driver's in, and no conflicts or probs...what should I do? How could I erase all trace of the drivers, and install them again, properly? I'm tired of no sound in CS...it's dropping my kill count rapidly!!!
