My celebratory thread. Sorry for the OT, but you guys are the ones I actually talk to so I put it here... :)

Yay!

Now I need to decide if I want to do the windows Vista cert of the Windows XP cert. I can't decide yet...

 Congradulations! How was the test compared to what you were expecting?

I'm not really sure. I felt it was harder than the Network+ exam I took and while I was taking it I didn't feel like I was going to pass because I ran into quite a few I wasn't 100% on. But I passed with a fairly decent score.

I guess best answer is difficult but manageable. :)

Gratz on becoming an MCP! I hope the rest of the tests turn out as well.

I really like your pics on Flickr! What lens did you use for most of the animals? You got some very close shots!

Here is a link to my stuff on Flickr.

Congrats on the exam. I would recommend stopping on the 2003 track though and start working on the 2008. The 2008 cert is very different from the 2003. They are ditching the MCP and MCSE certs and replacing them with MCTS and MCTIP. If you earn the 2008 certs it won't hurt you going for a job where they use 2003.

The problem is that if you earn the MCSE 2003 you will then have to take 4 upgrade exams to become MCTIP Server and Enterprise Administrator. Gone are the days when you took one upgrade exam. If you are going new you have to take 6 exams. So upgrading only means 2 less exams after you have taken all the 2003 exams for the MCSE.

I just finished upgrading my 2003 cert to an MCITP Server and Enterprise Administrator. If I were starting now I would go directly to the 2008 track.

Thanks! I love the Alaska pictures, my mom and dad recently went on a trip up there too. I wish I could go, it all looks amazing. Most of my animal pictures are with the sigma 70-200 F/2.8 lens.

Yeah I've been debating on switching since I started studying. I wanted to do at least this test so I've got something finished for my resume while I look for a job and this test was all stuff I do at work right now. I'll look into it further at this point before I start studying for the next test. Either way I think my next test will be the desktop operating system one, so I won't have to decide quite yet.

How was the study material for the 2008 tests? I was thinking it'd be a little extra difficult for someone starting out because there hasn't been as much time to develop quality books.

F/2.8! DAMN! I have a Sony 75-300, but it is F/4.5-5.6. It is kinda clunky so I usually keep the 18-70 on. Even the lowest on that lens is f/3.5. I like to take pictures, but they are mostly snap shots.
