AMD released 2800 MP Barton read about it here LINK I have two duallies. I will get a couple of these someday. I wish they would have run a Seti benchmark.
 
Me too... along with two dual CPU motherboards and some RAM and cases and SCSI disks to go along with them. 😉 😀 😛

What's the best OS to use with a dual rig?

Are there any special steps I have to take when installing the OS?

I would probably choose Linux, but if you're not really familiar with it, and you plan to use the dual processor system for your main workstation, then you'll probably want to pick some kind of Windows (it will need to be Windows 2000 or XP Professional). If you feel like working on some web dev and other neat stuff that requires a more server-oriented OS, but you still don't want to bother with Linux, give Windows 2003 Server a spin (if you want to use it also as a workstation, I can get you a link to a guide that shows you how to enable 3D acceleration and sound support in 2003 Server).

Nope, not AFAIK, except to install the DC project of your choice immediately upon completion of the installation of the network driver. 😎

I have an evaluation copy of 2003 server coming, at least it's supposed to be.
