I know this is OT but I think you guys can be more helpful than any1 else, so please excuse me. I also know that this is kinna late since AMEX is gonna stop pricemathing at the end of this month, but i just want to know how i can take advantage of it b4 they stop the service.

Now pricematching. Lets say if I buy a product at Dell.com for $200 + 10% off + $10 off = $170 + free shipping with my Blue.
Then, I found a valid website that sell the same product for $160 + $12 S/H = $172

will AMEX return $200 - $172 = $28 ? or
will AMEX return $200 - $160 = $40 ? or
will they not PM it since the final cost at Dell ($170) is already lower than the other place ($172) ?

According to your numbers, AMEX will give you all of $10.

They take the final product price charged to the credit card and match that with the final product price (not shipping) of the competitor.

Also, I received a pamphlet from AMEX detailing the Best Value Guarantee just recently (they said these new rules apply starting May 2002) and nothing in there said they were discontinuing the program... where did you guys hear this? (I know Techbargains mentioned something about that but other than that I've found no hard facts about the discontinuation of the program)

Not only do we have an OT forum to discuss OT issues there is also that wonderfull search function. Use it once in a while. You never know you can learn from it.
