How did Baseball almost blow up the world during the Cold War? I couldn't find it online anywhere and I looked through a few textbooks. I thought it would be more appropriate if I posted it in the War forum.

Thx in advance :):D

Possibily related to Fidel Castro in the Cold War time of around 1959 - 1960, he was a star college player - pitcher
and has always had an intrest in the sport.
Castro

Castro

That's right!

Had Castro made the cut in major league baseball he never would have become a marxist revolutionary.

No Castro
then
No Revolution (by him anyways)
then
No Cuban missile crisis!

OK, I get it.
:p

But wouldn't that have made the world SAFER during that time? That would hardly fit in with the topic's title "How did baseball almost blow up the world".

you're assuming that castro was the only one behind the revolution. i think that without castro, there still would have been a revolution, just someone else would have been the leader. some things would have happened differently, but don't overestimate the importance of one person.
