OT - Hey, I found a new use for duct tape!

Seems it does a dandy job taping heating and a/c ducts!

I know that's a stretch, but I tried it out on my ventilation system for the new place. Works great :Q

Dan found a new use for Duct tape. Never heard of it being used on ventilation systems before 😛

As Red Greene says "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!"

Duct tape.. what a wonderful tool.. 😉

The other day, i had to paint a small section of my floor, so i took some masking tape and covered the surrounding areas so they didnt get paint on them. Who would've known! Masking tape is such a great invention!

actually theres much more superior things than duct tape for fixing ducts. because 1. you have to find the leaks and 2. it only lasts about a year before the adhesive wears out and you have to redo everything.

I've used it for keeping cables in place inside my case, for keeping my flopping drive from sliding around when I lacked the proper screws, and other things related to keeping my computer crunchin' numbers 🙂

\me Trying to remember how this goes....

Duct Tape is like the Force:

It has a light-side and a dark-side and it holds the universe together. :Q

LOL, might want to invest in some foil tape if you have much of this type patching planned 😉Very similar to duct tape...

Around these parts we refer to "Duct Tape" as:
Gleaner Patch - if you own on of those combines you'll know what I'm talking about.
200 MPH Tape - if you go that fast your crazy!
Universal Adhesive - that's what the band I used to run sound for called it.

Duct tape is great for auto body repair too. Does a jam up job of holding a wreaked car together. Great for broken tail light too if you poke little holes in it. 😀

When I was in the business, we referred to duct tape as 'temporary tape.'

High end foil tape is longer lasting for sealing ducts, and silicone caulk better still. Then there's the stuff you paint on. Messy, time consuming and looks like heck, so we used a lot of clear silicone.
