I'm going from being a dispatcher (40 hours a week @ $13.68 with benefits) to a system technician I (25 hours a week @ $11 with no benefits). It is 25 hours a week because it is a student worker position here at the university. So I'll be able to focus more on school and hopefully graduate faster, since I'm only taking 2 classes per semester right now.

But I will get to spend 25 hours a week working on my projects, programming, doing level I maintenance and fixes, and seeing how much I can increase my farm. 😀

I'm happy. It's time I got out of this dispatching gig, and moved on. And I couldn't be happier. :beer: to Liz, who is helping me with all this, and :beer: to everyone else, as I'm in a good mood. Okay, back to work. 🙂

Congratulations! I'm making a similar move too! I'm moving away from my on campus IT job and into a startup BioTech company (still doing IT Helpdesk). I put in my two weeks about a week ago.

Changes are so exciting!

Woot. I did that twice this summer, migrating from job to job. Went from IT Helpdesk with any platform @ 14.75 w/ a horrible boss to a linux helpdesk @ 14 w/ horrible job descriptions to a mac helpdesk @ 13 that is awesome. =)

Congrats. I spend most of my day writing scripts and playing with Macs I can't afford. It's fun. 😛
 
Thanks everyone. I put it my two-weeks notice yersterday. 😀 Glad to hear everything worked out PCTC2. and hopefully Alyx and I will have similar results.
 
Well, congrats PCTC2 and Fullmetal Chocobo ! I hope all goes well.

I have good news myself. I just got assigned as the production manager for our department, and got a 10k/year raise.

I fully understand the idea of having to pay bills and all, but sometimes a paycheck isn't worth the BS work environment...
