Yes!! Finally got a job in this economy we call Victoria. I'm working for a bike shop here in town, which will be fun. I've worked at a bike shop before and they are pretty relaxing jobs with good discounts.
So, to celebrate I'm going to get a new video card and want to spend about $300 Canadian. Here are my options from ncix.com:

Radeon 8500 $275

What do you think? From the benchmarks it usually looks like the Radeon 8500 is slightly ahead, between the GF3 Ti200 and Ti500. I think I've kind of narrowed it down to the 8500 or the MSI. The MSI is a pretty good price for 128MB and VIVO. Should I spend the money and get a Gainward? Is so, is the 128MB worth it?

Thanks for your help!

Just bought a Radeon 8500 which replaced a Visiontek GF3 Ti200.

I couldn't be happier with the Radeon. The 2D text quality is far superior to that of any NVidia product. Plus the Radeon has analog and DVI output which will go nicely with a dual monitor display. Once I get my 17" LCD monitor that is 😉

Get the Radeon 8500. You won't be disappointed!

Too late I guess, but the Gainward Ti200 is a fantastic card. I bought one a few months ago and immediately clocked it at 240/500....rock stable and they give you a nice OC util to make it simple. I paid $137 US from newegg.
