The title says it all.

I will send the 9850BE (chip only--no hsf) to a new home. And I will even pay the postage.

The catches:

The pins are bent. As far as I can tell with my limited vision, non are missing. You would need to straighten them or hire a jeweler to do it.

You must promise to use it for crunching as a member of TeAm AnandTech. And I would also like to see it crunching SIMAP at the beginning of each month.

This chip requires an AM2+ socket and if the board has the 750 southbridge you should be able to over clock to the mid 3GHz area on air.

I'm interested, I've already dealt with bent Athlon XP pins, I hope I'll get this right...

I would display the computer, so that you could track the crunching of your chip!

You got it!

I will mail it out on Monday. Do you still have the same address?

wow, great yes, same address! I don't have a 750 southbridge at the moment, but I'm thinking of selling a AM2 mainboard (which doesn't support Phenoms) and buy a new AM2+

the planned home at the moment is a 780G with a 700SB

I am currently using Gigabyte MA790GP-UD4H boards because they have onboard video and good capacitors. (no esata, though.)
I am under 3GHz on all three boxes because I don't want to push it while it is so hot out. This fall, I expect to have them much higher.

Wait, Philippart, aren't you in Europe? Rudy Toody, are you in the states?

Philippart, you were the one that wanted the 939 mobo, right? Maybe I could ship it to Rudy Toody, and he could ship it to you?

I am in Seattle. This sounds like a good plan. I plan to mail the chip on 23 July so it will arrive soon after Tom gets back from holiday.

However, this could be delayed a bit.

Tom, what do you think?

I thought about it.

It will be too cumbersome with the customs and taxes, ...

My X2 4600+ will rest in my wine cellar between bottles of swiss wine :) :wine:
It won't be used anymore...
