Hi All,

I am simply posting an example of another fake email making the rounds. Please note that it asks you to download an attachment, which is something PayPal would not ask you to do. I do know that many in these forums know not to fall for the email, but you might want to advise your friends.

Subject: YOUR PAYPAL.COM ACCOUNT EXPIRES

Dear PayPal member,

PayPal would like to inform you about some important information regarding

your PayPal account. This account, which is associated with the email address

xxxxxxxx

will be expiring within five business days. We apologize for any

inconvenience that this may cause, but this is occurring because all of our

customers are required to update their account settings with their personal

information.

We are taking these actions because we are implementing a new security policy

on our website to insure everyone's absolute privacy. To avoid any

interruption in PayPal services then you will need to run the application

that we have sent with this email (see attachment) and follow the

instructions. Please do not send your personal information through email, as

it will not be as secure.

IMPORTANT! If you do not update your information with our secure application

within the next five business days then we will be forced to deactivate your

account and you will not be able to use your PayPal account any longer. It is

strongly recommended that you take a few minutes out of your busy day and

complete this now.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE VIA EMAIL! This mail is sent by an automated

message system and the reply will not be received.

Thank you for using PayPal.

Hi Lithium381,

Thanks🙂.

As an aside, I do have some PayPal t-shirts that I can give away to the first ten people that email me with a name, size, and street address. Please be sure to include the word "t-shirt" in the subject line. I will report back when they are gone.

Last I checked, that was a "no."

What I did, and what the paypal rep I talked to said is the best method is to open two accounts - one personal, one premier. Link one to checking, and one to your savings account.

Works fine for me, and that way I don't get the 2.2% docked from my non-cc payments. 😀

Hi isekii,

You can only downgrade an account once. You can, however, have one personal and one business/premier account.

So I can open up another account and just leave the for personal ?

Thanks. My wife doesn't even have a paypal account, knows better than to open/download attachments and she still fell for this. Luckily I have Norton's set to update automatically on her machine.

Hi,

I still need to advise that I have a few PayPal t-shirts. If you would like one, PM or email me with:

name
size
street address (no PO box)

Hi z0mb13,
