if a big insurance company screwed you over, would you buy the domain name of the senior company leadership and tell your story?

check it out

September 28th was the first day of major wildfires in the Simi Valley area, closing the 118 freeway, my normal route home. My wife was quite reasonably concerned, so I left my office early, and used the 101 in order to get home by a longer route than usual. At Hampshire Road on the 101, traffic halted, and I did with it. But Tracy Strumpfler, driving a 2004 Hummer H2 behind me, plowed into the back of my 2003 Jaguar S-Type at what appeared to be full speed. The impact was truly frightening.

Try being one of the thousands and thousands of people still awaiting insurance checks from Hurricane Katrina, then get back to me about having to wait for settlement and general insurance company crappiness.

I had to deal with 20th Century (now 21st...) when my first car was plowed through by an old guy that didn't see me. Took them three months, and they only paid a partial bit of a rental car for 15 days.

I think we should just outlaw insurance.

Either the insurerer is dishonest, or the insuree is dishonest - and the rest of us honest people get screwed.

I've had some pretty damned good experiences with AAA, but I know that I sure as hell pay for them.

Need a web-of-trust based insurance writer where people must be invited by existing trusted members, and people who invite fraudsters are penalized along with the fraudsters.

I don't see any slander there, but it's obvious that the person who make the website is trying to get rich off of an accident. He's needlessly racking up expenses for himself while stonewalling the insurance company, expenses that the insurance company isn't going to have to pay.

His story seems logically layed out and told. He seems credible to me, althought the fact he was driving a Jaguar, may have a little negative impact on a Jury, I think he has a case, it seems he is carefully documenting it every step of the way, so it will be interesting to see where it all lands.

We've had an extremely pleasant experience with our insurance company for a similar accident. We went through our own insurance company, we'll let them deal with the other driver's insurance. They did total our car, but what they were offering us to replace the car was $1500-2000 short of what it would actually cost us to get an equivalent replacement. We asked them if they could reconsider the offer, and they came back with an offer that was $3000 higher. Not bad.

(and no, they didn't raise our rates)
