I have used the Alpha Pal8045 with ECS K7S5A boards in the past and they worked fine but the new revision of the K7S5A has capacitors closer to the socket and this HS no longer fits. I had to mill a bit of metal off the edge to get it to work. I don't know if this will ever be an issue for anyone here but I thought I'd let you know, just in case the situation comes up.

This K7S5A works flawlessly, just like all the other systems I've built with them! This particular system, which I'm building for a friend, features a Duron 1200, so I'll do a littlke stress testing with seti and see how the morgan core performs! :D

I really should do a K7S5A FAQ or something because of the huge amounts of info I come across ( and me loving the K7S5A probably helps ) :p

Info taken down.

I suppose old prejudices are hard to overcome. I still remember ECS as a maker of cheap, integrated boards for bottom end systems. How long ago did they start building boards worth the praise you give them, evadman?

I have steered a few people away from ECS boards recently, but am willing to have my mind changed.

I can't say much about other ECS boards, but I've built numerous systems with the K7S5A, and they've all been very cheap and rock solid!

I've had to return 2-3 of these boards, but the replacements have been ,fine so far. I think they had some issues with the first couple of batches of this mobo, but they fixed most of the issues that I heard of and seem to be stable now.
