OT: domain name transfering?

I didnt see a forum that fit this and I dont trust OT so I'll just put it here where I know somebody knows something.
I have yet to register a domain name but I'm just thinking ahead.
If I register a domain name and then I move my website how do I get the domain name to go to the new location?
EX:
I register www.titanmiller.com and it is assocciated with http://members.isp.com/titanmiller
then I move my site to http://members.newisp.com/titanmiller
and finaly move it a third time to http://members.myfianlispever.com/titanmiller
how do I get www.titanmiller.com to the lateste server address?

Those all look like "free" domain services, but the process is similar.

First, members.myfianlispever.com needs to create a spot for you. That usually isn't that hard.
Then, you need to know their DNS server IP address.
Go to the place/company where you registered "www.titanmiller.com" and edit your profile. There will be a spot to put that DNS IP address. After 2 to 4 days, the DNS change will replicate around the world and start working.

If you ever want "www.titanmiller.com" to be a standalone URL instead of tacked onto the end of a freebie webserver, you'll need to pay someone some money (or have a good friend who runs an authentic webserver).

those are all refering to the webspace provided whatever ISP I have at the time. I plan on regestering my domain with a isp (650dialup.com) later tonight. so would I always go back to 650dialup.com if i need to change it?

I guess I'll just ask questions later if I change my ISP
BTW 650dialup provides 300mb of webspace!!!:Q

Yes, If you use 650dialup.com to register your domain, then yes you'd have to change it there even if they aren't the host. I used namecheap.com to register my domains - decent options and easy too. 🙂

Yes like they said you will always go back to who you registered the domain through and make the name server changes, then after the "propogation" period you are good to go. Now if you ever need a good "cheap" webhost that will offer you domain e-mail and mysql and stuff, check out vortexhost.com. I highly recommend them, as I am sure RaySun2Be would also. 🙂 They are family to us Seti folk!

Thanks for the help! I signed up last night but have yet to be able to connecet🙁. I'll have to get tec support tonight, luckly they have chat with tecs instead of by phone. (I HATE using the phone!) They give me 300mb of space over my current 7 so I'm pretty happy with that and they will also save me $120/year. Hopefuly I can get it worked out.
