Has anyone tried abalone? it looks like it should taste terrible.But,it could be delicious.I watched a tv show recently were people were diving for them in great white infested waters.Crazy bastards.im guessing they are very expensive,none in tesco.

I've had it raw, grilled, cooked in seafood pot, and in porridge. It's delicious. Abalone used to be really expensive but it's slightly cheaper now since much of it you see sold is farmed and not wild abalone. Still, abalone is really expensive when compared to other mollusks and shellfish. Pound of abalone meat can easily set you back over $100 /lb. I can get live abalone at Asian marts near me.
