OT: DC Forum guys...

After seeing so many threads in this forum compared to the cpu/processor and overclocking forum and even the FS/FT forum....

There's so much discussion, and you can feel like you're talking to friends, not screen names!

What they said. Friendly and extemely helpful. One of the things that drew me here 5 years ago was that no matter how many times a new person asked the same old question, it was ALWAYS answered in a helpful manner, and no flames or putdowns of the new members. 😀

Since then, I've seen them raise thousands of $$ to help a teammates with legal defenses, people that have hit hard times, those that just need a bit of a helping hand, and the outpouring of support to those in need. I've seen spare parts go all around the world to help out a fellow teammate, and those who crunch a whole lot of WUs behind the scenes for a teammate without their knowledge, and do a big dump to surprise them (PTEs we used to call them). 😀

The compassion and generosity of this stats crazy bunch of DC fanatics still astounds and amazes me. 😀

Which reminds me of why I joined in the first place. This room does have some of the nicest people I have ever met.

I was in FS/T forum, and someone had posted something of interest. Someone bumped for "A Fellow TeAmmate". Wondering what that was, I check his sig, and was brought here. Next thing you know, I am crunching SETI, and I've been crunching DC ever since. This was early July 2002 🙂.

Sometimes I wonder why I still stick around here. Ok, so I lie. 😀

I love it here. Even after I leave the projects, I don't know when that will happen, but if it does, you know I will still stick around. I have made a lot of friends around here. And yes, I have even met a few in person. These people are the same online as they are in person.

Almost like a second family...
