i always wondered since we have this broad range of dc programs running, how come there was never a prog programed to scan iraq & the surrounding area with penetrating radar?

Sorry, I know I shouldn't do this but...

Yeah, I'm sure the thousands of none American troops have nothing to do with the operation.

Edit: Though its good that he's been captured at last...now for OBL...

O.K. U got a point there. I absolutly forgot about that. But as the news just said that US special forces captured him i didn't think of other troops as well.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not American, I'm German, just in case u thought I do some self praisal here ;).

And I realy doubt that the US gov would have let other troops than their own capture him ... just imagine the "shame" that would have been ... (no offense)

To me, as a member of the US military, it doesn't matter who got him. Just that they have him and hopefully it will begin a period of a new stronger IRAQ and that all the foreign soldeirs can finally go home to their famillies. And that those who have lost their lives have not been in vain.

OK me steps off my soapbox

That should be the government's next commercial. "If you don't want to be in the army, donate your computer to a worthy cause! Run ArmySatellite@Home now!"

Well I for one am glad that we found those WMD that we went over there to protect ourselves from, err to free the Iraqi people from an evil dictator, err....why did we go over there again? All I know for sure is it definitely wasn't to make up for not finding bin Laden and Bush Sr not taking out Saddam the first time around.

/runs for cover...remember we're all on the same team. :)

Well, it's great that they finally got Saddam and I think it's even better that he was captured alive. If these WMD do exist he's going to know where they are. Plus, even if the alleged WMD aren't found I think it's a good thing to rid Iraq of Saddam and his regime. From what I saw the Iraqi people weren't shedding any tears over it. I do hope this is a step toward letting the Iraqi people govern themselves so our soldiers can come home soon. There's too many being wounded and killed while trying to maintain order there. :(

If this were /. I would have expected a followup message saying I misspelled 'oil' with 'wmd' (and to be modded -1 for trolling). If we did go there for oil then why the h3ll am I still paying US1.80 for a friggin gallon of gas? I'm not cool w the whole blood for oil thing but if that's Bush's goal then at least cut me some slack at the pump.

/sa slides deeper down the slippery slope.

side ?: a little after 9/11 someone published a comic online that was red ink on a white background with two guys talking about the war that was basically like 'we're going to mf'n war' 'yeah, we're gonna fvck up bin Laden' and so on a so forth. There was a whole series on it going into the war in Iraq but I can't find it now. If anyone can post a link it would be very cool.

edit: found it, very funny stuff

Edit for those of you who don't venture over there...please ignore my sig;) It's nothing personal - it's all just in fun. And any arguments about politics belongs in and should stay in the P&N forum. Ask DaveMcOwen - it's all good on the DC front :D

I say they should put the 25mil reward into the debt for running our war on terrorism, that'll pay for about 3-5 hours of fighting/searching. now we still need to spot Osama.

look up Contradiction in an American dictionary and you'll find Central Inteligence Agency (CIA) as the definition. :D
