OT: Compaq 5000,ME,ECCP= Freeze

My Compaq 5000, 700 duron, 512 MB Ram, freezes after 3-4 hours.
Already tweaked Msconfig, cleaned temp files, defragged, virus scan, checked the Compaq forums, and running version 1.31.
The mouse will freeze and cannot do C-A-D. Must do hard shutdown. Any ideas??
The DP output would be nice at 24/7. Thx.
 
Have you checked temperatures? My machine(s) lock up if the temperature is too high or if it is overclocked too much.

I had problems with version 131 of ECCp, so I still use version 1.30. I did notice that they just released version 1.32 of the client - so you may want to give that a try, or you can try a statsaholic client

it sounds like you have a hardware problem though. I have a flaky machine at work that crashes after running anything for a few hours. The problem is with the Abit motherboard.

 
Check that CPU fan and heatsink contact. I had a machine that started rebooting on me shortly after moving it from one cube to another. At first I thought it was something to do with the power but when I opened it up the CPU fan wasn't spinning and the heatsink was HOT! :Q Replaced CPU fan and no more reboots. 🙂
