Thats what I heard before my SHUXTECH server died. 🙁 XP 2100+ is Idle as I try and figure out how to use the stuff I have to replace the drives.... yup, 1 Drive failed completly (Hardware) and the other mirrored all the corruption and won't boot. *sigh*

🙁 about that Shuxs. I just mentioned in another thread (somewhere) that I too have had several hard drives fail in the last couple of months.

That really sux! Sorry about that. Just shows me that one can never have too many backup options. On a couple of my important server here I have raid 5, tape backups, ghosted images and a storage server that I backup to. I still don't feel 100% secure!

It mirrored all the corruption? Wow, that's wierd(it should only mirror things that are written; so the OS must have paniced). Either way, good luck in getting it back up.

Yes it mirrored corruption..... ( or so it seems ) it was IDE RAID and I went to update the page in the morning... and... well 🙁 Took the "bad" drive out of the set and tried it and it partially booted then quit after attemping fsck with inassesable / parttion. 🙁

You'd be suprised at how cheap you can get a decent tape drive off Ebay. I have a DLT7K drive here and it save me more than once. I highly recommend looking into it even if you're stuck using Windoze backup.
