OT, can ya help me?

you have to make an account for the other computer
say computer A is main with printer
computer is B call second with password 345
then you have to make an account in computer A with username Second password 345

Are you saying the username of the account I set-up on ComputerA (Win2K) has to match the computer name of ComputerB (Win98)?

The network is asking for the Administrator or Operator password.

1. If it is a workgroup share...You can share the printer out to all users on the Host computer.

2. Then log in to the Client computer as Administrator, browse to the Host puter and use drag & drop. Or use...from Client puter, open printer and add a printer then follow the Wizard.

Basically, if you have a log in name and password on the Win98 machine, make the same username and password on the Win2k machine.

An easy way is to create an Administrator Account on both machine and give them the same name and password, then use that to add/share the printer.

You don't have to use the above method, because you need to have Administrative/Operator right & password to the Host machine (the machine with printer), and Adminstrator/Operator right on the Client machine.

Easy way:
HostPuter - Admin/Pass
ClientPuter - Admin/Pass

Slightly harder:
HostPuter - Admin/Pass
ClientPuter - Administrator/Password
This way you have to give the Admin/Pass when try to connect to the share printer.

OK... this all makes sense now. I'm going to stick to the easy way since the same user uses both machines.... and logs in as Admin.

BTW, that would be 'client for Microsoft Networking'?
